Susan Hughes, M.D. is a board certified Facial Cosmetic Surgeon and Ophthalmologist. Deciding to rejuvenate yourself through cosmetic surgery is an important decision, and a big step is to decide to change your body image. For each individual person, each cosmetic procedure is different, according to your age and genetic traits.

For example, if you are under the age of 45, you may have fat bulges under your eyes, skin wrinkles around your eyes, or a combination of the two. In this instance, adding fat or filler to your eyelids, or tightening the skin with laser resurfacing, can create the most natural looking eyelids. However, if you are over 45, you may have the aforementioned problems, as well as the sagging of both your lower and upper face. This is optimally treated with an endoscopic upper and mid facelift. Also, for both men and women, BOTOX® can be used to further reduce the appearance of wrinkles and facial lines.

Now for facial rejuvenation, most patients aren't aware that there are three distinct areas of the face - the Upper Face, Mid Face, and Lower Face. Each one of those areas can separately need assistance, because over time, each section experiences wrinkling, sagging, and fat deflation. With Laser Skin Tightening, fat transfers, injectable fillers, and the mini incision facelift, this can all be improved. As stated before, however, your age and genetic traits will determine if you need only a Lower Facelift, only an Upper Facelift, or a combination of the two along with a Mid Facelift. Each of these procedures can be performed endoscopically with the smallest of incisions. Sometimes, a Necklift or a Mini Facelift incision is added.
